Rico’s Get Better League for Mandela Day 2013 | South Africa
Rico’s Get Better League is designed to offer rising high school students, the opportunity to develop their innate leadership abilities and improve upon their athletic skills, all while learning life lessons in an educational sports environment. The program, which was created in Los Angeles by Rico’s Get Better Foundation, has evolved into an international event consisting of three of essential elements for students. Our program focuses on giving students the opportunity to participate in daily sports activities, inspirational educational workshops and special community service projects.
This year’s program, in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 95th Birthday and Nelson Mandela International Day will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, offering a unique opportunity for a select group of high achieving, Co-ed high-school students from the U.S.A., to unite with Co-ed scholars from South Africa, to participate in a once in a lifetime experience.
With your unfailing support, RGBF believes that this year’s program will serve as a spark of inspiration to our student Ambassadors, while providing them with valuable tools, essential to positioning them for long-term success in all areas of life. Thus, we foresee a triumphant return home with many memorable lessons-learned and invaluable life-experiences they will share with their respective classmates, teammates, teachers, school administrators, and local communities.
Rico’s Get Better League for Mandela Day represents a dynamic shift in the development of our youth leadership, from local classrooms and communities to a global stage.
